Wind turbines require a self-power supply to ensure their operation. The power is needed for lighting, standstill heating, and the electrical adjustment of the blades, and cannot be generated by the wind turbine itself. Zeppelin Power Systems has developed mobile offshore gensets specifically designed for use in wind farms in the North and Baltic Seas.
Mobile offshore gensets in containers, available in various configurations
As an enclosure and for the safe transport of the power generator, Zeppelin Power Systems has developed a certified offshore container in which the gensets are elastically mounted. Available in either a compact 5-foot container version or a larger 10-foot container version, our customers can choose between these two options for offshore gensets. Each package also includes a high-performance exhaust silencer and a salt filter to control the environmental conditions inside the container.
The gensets are particularly robust, highly reliable, and therefore ideal for use in areas with high salt content in the surrounding air and generally harsh environmental conditions.
Comprehensive service package included
All components of the gensets are easily accessible and designed for simple maintenance. In addition to on-site service, the entire mobile offshore unit can be easily replaced with a pre-serviced unit. Zeppelin Power Systems provides corresponding logistical concepts for genset exchange and fuel supply.

Use of engines and gensets in offshore wind farms
