Zeppelin Power Systems has donated two C1.7 engines to the BTZ (Berufsbildungs- und TechnologieZentrum) of the Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim Chamber of Crafts for training and further education purposes. The two industrial diesel engines with an output of up to 36 kW were handed over to the BTZ in Achim near Bremen on Tuesday, March 26, and will be used for training purposes at the Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

Agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics is one of the many occupations for which the training center offers inter-company training. In the skilled trades, young people learn in three main places: the training company, the vocational school and the inter-company training center - the Chamber of Skilled Crafts. Courses are held in the Chamber's workshops every year to ensure the level of training in the Chamber's district. Part of the course program is also the LBM5 engine training course, where the C1.7 engines will be used in the future.
"The trainees, who are between 15 and 18 years old, have to completely dismantle the engines as part of this course. We go through all the components and functions in detail so that they learn all the parts of the engine," says Ingo Surkamp, master agricultural machinery mechanic at BTZ. "The engines are then reassembled and started - it's important that the trainees have a sense of achievement and are shown when they have done their work correctly.
The engines are also used at career fairs and in master craftsman courses - as exhibits or teaching tools. "We all know how difficult it is to find talent, especially in industrial and technical fields. We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to contribute to the training of young people with this donation," says Thomas Pielucha, Sales Manager Industry and Rail Vehicles at Zeppelin Power Systems.
